AWARDS:
2 winners will be selected and each will receive a $400.00 scholarship.
*Note, scholarship winners must be accepted to their selected music camp by May 1st in order to recieve this award.
ELIGIBILITY:
The competition is open to all students who will be entering 7th grade in the coming school year through the completion of the 12th grade in the current school year.
Applicants must have played in Junior Festivals for at least three (3) years. The applicant must be playing in the Moderately Difficult I through the Musically Advanced II classification in the most recent Festival.
RULES FOR AUDITION:
The entrant will play two solo compositions, performed from memory. One composition must be the entrant’s required festival solo and the other must be that of a foreign composer. Junior Festival Bulletin rules must be followed for all selections. An original copy of the music must be provided for the judges, with measures numbered. Students may win this award once in the 6th - 9th grades and once in 10th - 12th grades. These awards must be used to attend a summer music camp of the winner’s choice.
