The Orpheus Club of Bloomington/Normal, IL, and surrounding communities is an organization consisting of musicians and teachers of music. We are part of a much larger organization called the National Federation of Music Clubs (founded in 1898) which consists of 6500 clubs nationwide.
The Orpheus Club was originally a Junior Club started by Anna Gail Wilcox, but in 1965 it grew to become District 6. As a club, our goal now, as it was then, is to foster young musical talent and to stimulate musical growth and appreciation in the community.
As a Senior Club, our yearly activities include holding monthly club meetings on Thursday mornings and sponsoring a District Junior Festival involving close to 300 students. In addition, we offer a variety of student opportunities and fund various scholarships. We invite you to find out more about us through the "Get in Touch" section at the bottom of each page.
